  Purchase the fastest computer with the most storage you can afford.

 I built mine with Dell 4 years ago. Now it is better to purchase a plastic Modum box/container that has tons of space for you to upgrade for years ahead! Local stores carry them.

  Laptop owners should purchase a fan that goes under your computer. Computers worst enemy is heat, dust and you.

   Open  your computer every 6 months and clean out the dust on the fans and air filters. Do this before you consider taking it to a shop for any repair.

  Opening tabs:

  When you get on the computer at home page and go to a traffic exchange for instance, you may not want to wait 10 seconds to see a lot of sites you have already viewed.

  To avoid boredom,  look at the tiny square beside the open tab with your page name. Hoover it. Usually a yellow block lights up. Click on it.

     Then go to another traffic exchange or page you want to check out. All of your open named tabs just need clicked on to go back to that page.Think of the tabs as pages spread out on a table.

                  Learning to store favorites

   This simple internet skill will help you stay organised and save you time. When you want to put something in your favorites,think of it as a paper to put into a file folder. Click on favorites, then new folder (name it) Then add your page and click on save.

   I have a folder in favorites for traffic exchanges,safelists,my biz websites,learning skills and  games.

                           Getting Your Picture Up

  Another simple internet skill is posting  your picture online using a cellphone, You must set that up with your cell phone provider or have a friend take your picture who has this service.

  Wear a colorfull shirt with a plain background and get some outdoor shots too. Choose just one picture to use everywhere.

  Send all pictures to your email.  Copy/paste it into your free picture site that came with your computer.

   Newer computers you right click,choose "save picture as" and it goes right to your picture folder for you.

   Use just one user I.D. everywhere. I used foxybird  foxybird123 and my old user I.D. gramfox777

  This is your birthname on the internet. Use just one or add some numbers to it if someone else already is using it at a site you join.

     Resize it at http://www.picresize.com  ask for 75% reduction.Then you can use it anywhere.

 If you need it bigger,just go back and resize it again!

           Surfing  long timer sites together

 Look at your safelists. If they have in house surfing with a timer on the sites, you can surf these together by opening new tabs.

  Here are the three Traffic exchanges I surf together. With these two safelists, go to their internal email box (both have timers) .

  http://www.easyhits4u.com/?ref=foxybird   Easy hits tells you how many people are there when you are surfing. It is located just below your log-in.

  This is the #1 traffic exchange because they get 300 new members a week!

    Make print bigger or smaller by holding down the bottom left hand key( Ctrl) while moving your mouse wheel back and fourth.

      Learning the Copy Paste simple Internet Skill

   You will have to go to Notepad or Word and type anything you want. You will be bluing up from the bottom right of the text you want to copy and paste across the words to the top left.

   Hold down your left side of your mouse, run your blue from the bottom right all the way to the top left.

   Then click on it in the center.Pick copy from the scroll down list.

   Now you have the phrase in your mouse.

   Next drop it by clicking the right side ,then the left of the mouse. This time choose paste. Practice it.

    This takes some practice,do not give up. I had to have my grand-daughter, Brittney help me again!

  Another Simple Internet Skill is learning to make good use of your Notebook that came with your computer. 

  First find it by clicking on the bottom start button and reading the links.If you do not see it there, click on "All Programs". Open it.

  Pick "Pin to start menu".

  Then write your first page of notes. I started by putting in my different Business Communities. Do one page for each one. First I wrote about Swom.

   Then open the scroll down link on the top left. Pick "save as". The box will come up with the title xx..;, or something like that. Backspace it to get rid of it.

   Then I titled my page Swom. Hit save. Now close it.

     Repeat for each Social site posts,notes and links.

    Then I did a page for traffic exchanges,my websites,banner links and so forth.

              Opening Notepad

   How to open your Notepad and use serveral of your posts at a time.

     First go to your start buttom. Find Notebook. Don't see it? Then click on "all Programs".Not there? Choose accessories.

  Next,click on the word "File",then open.Now you will see your files.

  Find the one you will be using. Click on it's line. Look at the bottom of the box.Choose open.

  To keep it for later use as you work on the internet, just click on the box at the top right corner of your computer page.

   Repeat the process for each page you will be using for the day.

   They can be made smaller and wait at the bottom of the page.

             Running  Spyware or a Cleaner

  Here is a good thing to know. If you leave the internet,the Notebook pages you opened will be wating at the bottom of your computer .

   Close them out before you run any cleanup or spyware programs.

Always keep learning.That way you don't get cobwebs on the brain!
