  My husband Rick and I  live with my son Rick's family. Rick Jr., wife  Jean, and their children Britt and Mike. My grandson Ryan also lives with us.

   Us two old folks occupy the big appartment in the lower level of this huge house.

 We had to replace the bathroom floor tiles in our postage stamp bathroom.It went very smooth.I hired a friend of the family to do the work.I was the gopher.

  The laundry room floor right next to the bath sure looked dingy next to the new bathroom floor.

  So we enbarked on a new task.This time it was no picnic. We discovered the floor had been painted two times (two different colors), Then tiled twice, right on top of one another.

 We removed the old tiles, torched the stuck on tiles and glue. Then I used a wire brush to sand the old paint residue, swept it all up and then mopped it twice with just water.Following all that,I hand dried the area with paper towels.

  Meanwhile my helper was filling any holes he found in the cement .A fan was put on these ares to completely dry the area. Next a sealer was applied to the floor. A second coat was also applied.

  Then the easy part of laying the preglued square tiles. Be sure and put Liquid Nail on the corners. What a job!
